What are hobbies? Hobbies are activities that are done for pure enjoyment outside of school or work. Why are hobbies important? It may seem in this go-go-go world that hobbies offer no value. They are a form of self-care that helps you be your best at things that add monetary value like a job or school and increase your value as you learn a new skill. Play also releases any stress accrued in your body and boosts mood. It makes it easy to partake in mindfulness as you’re fully present.

What are examples of good hobbies? What hobbies should I try? Examples of hobbies to pick up are vigorous working out at the gym to blow off steam, blogging, listening to music, playing video games, dancing, meditation, and hiking. These hobbies are great because they enhance health and functioning by improving the ability to think critically. There are no side effects or adverse effects from doing these hobbies.
