While exploring New York City, I came across two of Central Park's offerings.  Central Park is home to runners, picnickers, walkers, and carriage riders alike.  It's bustling like the city but offers two wonderful little-known gems in the park to explore and escape the stresses of city life.  They are Bow Bridge and Bethesda Terrace.

Central Park's Iconic Features: Bethesda Terrace & Bow Bridge

The Bethesda Terrace is known as an architectural marvel and has amazing scenery overlooking the lake in Central Park.  The arcade and terraces were designed as a space for social gatherings, and for people and nature watching.  In fact, it's a popular space for hosting weddings. It's beautiful, especially during the fall and summer months.  It's located mid-park at 72nd street.

The Bow Bridge is a romantic place for couples and onlookers alike.  It reminds me of the Pont des Arts Love Lock Bridge in Paris, France. It's located mid-park at 74th Street.  Dress warmly for the colder months as you explore the park.  It's easy to get lost in Central Park, but as long as you follow the lamp posts in the center of the park you will be fine.  Each lamp post is labeled with the street you are on inside the park.  Familiarizing yourself with the route to both destinations will also come in handy.  Bethesda Terrace is a four-minute walk from the Bow Bridge. Enjoy and take lots of pictures!
