I was skeptical, yet excited. Per request, I organize a lot of my hangouts with my friends because we all like to experience new things as I do. Katz Deli has been on our bucket list, but we've never been until last Saturday (2/19/2022). This past Saturday was "the" day we tried this place. We heard so many wonderful things about it. You and I can find out how good it was in this blog.
Well, was it worth the wait? Though there was a 30-minute line to enter at lunchtime, yes, it EASILY lives up to the hype. Very much worth it! It was delish! I had the Fatty Pastrami Sandwich with Mustard. This is what you want to order when you come here. Aside from commute time and wait time and chaotic organization of inside a very busy place as this Deli, this hot pastrami sandwich was all worth it once you took the first bite of it. It was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. To get a sandwich with mustard, the mustard is self-serve and is on the table if you dine. There are many lines inside Katz's deli if you want different things like hotdogs, making a sandwich, matzoh ball soup, other Jewish specialties, or waiting for a table. However, if you dine in, you can avoid the hassle of going on different lines for different parts of your order as it is pure craziness, and the food comes to you while you restore yourself from the bustling NY experience. Beware that it gets packed and customers get cranky but know that they will drive themselves nuts. So, I would definitely recommend eating here. Katz's Deli is also the famous site of one of the scenes in When Harry Met Sally.
